We are a small team and we reply within 2 business days.

If money is leaving your account right now, do not write to us first

Prudents is not a bank, an insurer, or a government office, and we cannot stop a payment, freeze a card, or open a claim for you. If something is happening now, do this instead:

  • Call your bank or card issuer using the number printed on the card or the one inside the app you already have. Never the number that arrived in a message.
  • Call your insurer using the number on your declarations page or your insurance card, and ask them to open the claim and tell you the deadline.
  • Report fraud to the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov, and to your local police if there was theft.
  • If there is immediate physical danger, call 911.

After the urgent part is handled, you are welcome to write to us. We do not review policies or claims for individual readers, but we can point you to the article that covers your question.

There is only one address

[email protected] is our only support channel. We do not take questions by phone, by any other email address, or through a social media profile. If someone contacts you from a different address claiming to be Prudents, it is not us.

In your first message, say what you need and what you already tried. If you attach a screenshot, remove your personal details first. We do not need them to answer.

What we answer

  • Questions about something we published, including a correction if we got a fact wrong.
  • Requests to use our material in a classroom, a workplace training session, or a community campaign. In most cases we say yes, at no cost.
  • Press and partnership questions.
  • Privacy requests, including access, correction, and deletion of your data.

What we do not answer

  • We do not read your policy and tell you whether to buy it, keep it, or cancel it.
  • We do not estimate what your premium should cost or which insurer is best for you.
  • We do not evaluate a claim, appeal a denial, or contact an insurer for you.
  • We do not recover money, accounts, or passwords.

Those answers depend on a contract we have not read and on rules that change by state. The honest place for them is a licensed professional or your state insurance department, which answers consumer questions for free.

Corrections

If an article contains a mistake, tell us which page and which sentence. We check it against the source, fix the text, and update the page. A correction that changes the meaning of an article is noted on the page itself.
