Terms of Use
In force since August 18, 2026.
These terms govern the use of the site prudents.org and of the material published on it. Using the site means you agree to the conditions below.
1. Who offers this site
prudents.org is operated by Prudents, which is responsible for the content published here. The contact channel for any matter is [email protected]. The company registration details will be added to this page once registration is complete.
These terms apply to the Portuguese, English, and Spanish versions of the site. If the translations diverge, the Portuguese text prevails.
2. Purpose
The site has an educational and preventive purpose. The English articles explain how insurance and other money protection decisions work; the Portuguese site also covers scams and fraud. Everything published here is informational material. By using the site you declare that you agree with these terms; if you do not agree, do not use it.
3. No guarantee of result
No Prudents material guarantees that a claim will be paid, that a price is fair, or that a coverage is enough for you. Prudents does not sell insurance, is not an agency or a broker, and is not licensed to advise on a policy. What we deliver is an explanation of how a coverage is built and which terms decide the outcome. The decision in your own case is always yours, and the contract you sign is what settles it.
4. Limits of the content
The content of the site is not legal, insurance, tax, accounting, banking, or investment advice, and it does not replace the official service of an insurer, a financial institution, a platform, a carrier, or a competent authority. If you suspect fraud in progress, contact the official channel of the institution involved and file a report. Fraud can be reported to the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov. Consumer questions and complaints about an insurer are handled for free by your state insurance department. In a situation of immediate physical danger in the United States, call 911.
5. Intellectual property and use of the content
Text, images, the brand, illustrations, and other Prudents material belong to Prudents or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and related law.
You may read, print for your own use, share the link, quote a short passage with credit and a link, and apply what you learned with your family and in community, school, or workplace settings.
You may not resell, redistribute paid material, reproduce the content in full on another site, create a derivative work for commercial purposes, remove the attribution, or use the Prudents brand in a way that suggests a partnership, sponsorship, endorsement, or representation that does not exist.
Requests to use the material in corporate training, in a school, or in a campaign should be sent to [email protected]. In most cases permission is granted at no cost.
6. Paid material
Prudents sells educational material in Portuguese through a checkout platform, which is responsible for processing the payment and issuing the receipt according to its own rules. Delivery is digital and happens after the payment is confirmed. No paid material is currently offered in English.
- Brazil. The consumer has 7 calendar days from the purchase to withdraw and obtain a full refund, under article 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code. The request is made directly through the checkout platform, without giving a reason.
- European Union and United Kingdom. The purchase of digital content is subject to a 14 day withdrawal period. If the consumer asks for immediate access, the download begins with explicit consent and the law allows the period to end at that moment. Even so, the internal 7 day no questions asked policy still applies, and whichever condition is more favorable to the consumer prevails.
7. Your obligations
- Do not attempt to break into, overload, or interrupt the operation of the site.
- Do not extract the content automatically in order to republish it.
- Do not use the Prudents name, brand, or material to run a scam, sell an unauthorized course, or impersonate Prudents.
- Do not send sensitive data about other people without need. If you send a screenshot, remove the personal data first.
Impersonation of Prudents is reported to the platforms involved and to the competent authorities.
8. Third party links and trademarks
The content may name insurers, financial institutions, government bodies, and platforms in order to identify a rule, a public consumer guide, or a scam carried out in their name. Naming them does not imply any link, sponsorship, or endorsement in either direction. The trademarks named belong to their respective owners. Links to third party sites are provided for convenience, and Prudents is not responsible for their content.
9. Advertising and paid links
The site may show ads supplied by third party advertising networks, among them Google AdSense. Those ads are chosen by the networks, not by Prudents. An ad is not a recommendation, a check, or an endorsement of the product, the service, or the company advertised, and it does not change what we publish. A complaint about a specific ad can be sent to [email protected].
Some links on the site may earn Prudents a commission when they lead to a purchase or a sign up. When that happens, it is stated on the page itself, visibly and before the link. The commission does not change the criteria of an analysis or the order of the recommendations, which follow the editorial policy published at prudents.org/en/editorial-policy.
The processing of personal data that comes with advertising, including cookies and the choices open to you, is described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Availability
Prudents makes an effort to keep the site continuously available, except for interruptions caused by maintenance, hosting failure, or events beyond its control. Prudents may change, suspend, or discontinue any free feature of the site. Material already purchased remains accessible under the conditions in which it was sold.
11. Limitation of liability
Prudents is liable within the limits of the applicable consumer law and of what it undertook to deliver: the material, the access, and the support. It is not liable for loss arising from a scam committed by a third party, from a decision you took based on the content, or from misuse of the material. Nothing in these terms removes a right granted to you by the consumer law of your country.
12. Data protection
The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
Changes to these terms are reflected in the effective date shown at the top of the page. A relevant change, such as the start of sales, is published before it takes effect. Using the site after publication means you agree with the version in force.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Brazilian law. The forum of the consumer domicile is elected to settle disputes not resolved administratively. A consumer domiciled in the European Union or the United Kingdom keeps the mandatory protections of the law of their country.
